Roy Underwood is a senior Spinifex man with responsibilities for the Miramiratjara area. The painting shows clearly how water is found on the sandhill/ soaks. Wherever one digs, water comes to the surface. Water is held close to the surface by the presence of many water snakes below the surface. These snakes can be dangerous and have to be settled down by smoke if people are coming to drink. People camp back from the soakage area and approach by lighting fires.
